"Porcelain Leaf Impressions" by Mary Harbour are made by taking a real leaf and pressing it into porcelain clay that has been rolled very thin.  The leaf is removed and the resulting impression is cut out of the slab of clay.  The leaf is shaped and dried.  It is then bisque fired in an electric pottery kiln.  Various stains are applied to the shape and it is then fired to a temperature of 2200 degrees.  After this firing, colors are enhanced with non-fired stains.  The leaf is then sprayed with an acrylic sealer to protect the colors.  The leaves are finished in fall colors and are intended for decorative use.

Handmade all original Enameled Jewelry:
Enameling is an ancient craft, which involves fusing a powdered glass to a metal base in a kiln.  Multiple firings are required to achieve the desired colors.

The cloisonné technique involves bending small pieces of fine silver to various shapes according to a planned design.  The shapes are attached to a metal base and then filled with wet enamels in various colors.  The piece is fired in a kiln at 1500° for approximately 3 minutes and removed.  This procedure is repeated until the desired effect is achieved.  Many pieces will have attached enamel beads.  The beads are made by using a propane torch to melt and fuse enamel chunks to a small copper tube.  The accidental effects of sifting, crackle base, and foils are also used in many pieces.

Most items are hand-cut from copper or fine silver.  The enamel designs are original and usually one of a kind.  The chains are either sterling silver or gold-filled.  The wires used on designs are fine silver.  The gold accents are 14k gold.
